Not really. Friend in LA got the VW buyback offer on his TDI and was looking for suggestions. This popped up.

It does seem to be rust free, though I guess that is not such a surprise being in the desert.

True, that and the rebuilt subframe is indeed sexy. Just add LSx and good to go!

This needs to be a race car.

For a Bora, you don’t do that kind of stuff... Get a Merak for a LS swap... Boras, if perfectly restored, sell for 350 to 400k€. Only 400 were made. My friend has 2, complete but in pieces... That body and parts, will probably sell for 50 to 90k$...

Way too rare and valuable for that. It’s a 350k$ car.

This comes without engine, though.... so how do you power it?

Have they really gone that bonkers in price? That’s surprising.

The gearbox is the same one as in the Pantera and GT40, so it’s not rare. As for the engine it’s a whole other story, but it can be sourced.

That would be for mint condition cars, but yes, they have... USDM cars tend to be cheaper though...

Granted that the GBP is not worth very anymore now haha... But I’ve seen a few sell for 300k$

Yeah, obviously this particular one isn’t worth much. I had no idea these had gone up enough to make that she'll worth saving though.
